Kith & Kin exists to help people reconnect with their stories, their families, and their place in Scotland’s history. Some of the work we do is offered freely, because we believe that genealogy and heritage should be accessible for everyone.

What Your Support Makes Possible

Kith & Kin currently provides the following services at no cost:

1. Free Pedigree Chart & Family History Starter Pack
Every new client receives a complimentary pedigree chart, an initial family history document, and a personalised plan for developing their family tree.

2. Volunteer Work for Historical Societies
We volunteer with:
•     Back Historical Society, Isle of Lewis
•     Lanarkshire Family History Society, Motherwell
This includes research, transcription, community support, and preserving local heritage.

3. Weekly Scottish History Blog
We publish regular articles on www.kandkancestry.com and Facebook, sharing stories, research insights, and historical context for readers around the world.

4. The Kinship Calendar
We maintain and update a Scotland‑wide and online calendar of ancestry and history events — a free resource for communities, societies, and visitors.

5. Complimentary Family History Reports
Although research work is chargeable, the full written family history report — often the most time‑consuming part — is provided at no additional cost.
